Sunshine Bone and Joint Institute & KIMS-SUNSHINE Hospitals, successfully hosted two CME workshops in collaboration with TOSA (Telangana Orthopaedic Surgeons Association) and TCOS (Twin Cities Orthopaedic Surgeons).
This highly anticipated CME was an outstanding success, with over 70 participants, including postgraduates and junior consultants, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and enhancing their practical skills in knee arthroplasty. The event offered an excellent mix of interactive lectures and practical training, equipping attendees with the latest techniques and knowledge in knee replacement surgery.
The workshop featured a series of interactive lectures and practical sessions, the TCOS CME beginning with lectures on essential topics such as surgical approaches in knee, pre-operative optimisation for total knee replacement (TKR), TKR in varus and valgus knees, constraints in primary TKR, TKR in fixed flexion deformity (FFD) and recurvatum, bone defects in primary TKR, and post-operative protocols and rehabilitation. These topics were presented by distinguished experts, including Dr. Thimma Reddy, Dr. Ramkumar Reddy, Dr. Srinivas Kasha, and Dr. Adarsh Annapareddy, who provided participants with valuable insights into the latest techniques and approaches in knee replacement surgery.
In the afternoon session, the TOSA Primary Knee Arthroplasty : Saw Bone Hands-on workshop was conducted where the participants had the opportunity to engage in hands-on practice at various practical stations, where they practiced saw bone techniques, CR knee and PS knee procedures, and cementation techniques, gaining direct experience with the tools and techniques needed for modern knee arthroplasty procedures under the guidance of top orthopaedic surgeons.
The CME workshops were a great success, fostering professional development and offering participants the opportunity to network with leading experts in the field. This event further showcased KIMS-SUNSHINE Hospitals and Sunshine Bone and Joint Institute’s commitment to advancing medical education and enhancing the skills of the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons.
