KS AURA 2025 CPD & Workshop on Ultrasound Guided Regional Anaesthesia

The Department of Anaesthesia at KIMS-SUNSHINE Hospitals recently hosted the much-anticipated KS AURA 2025, a CPD and workshop on Ultrasound-Guided Regional Anaesthesia. The event was held at the Bhavanam Srinivas Reddy Auditorium at KIMS-SUNSHINE Hospitals, Begumpet. The event themed “Guided by the Waves: No More Blind Stabs”, drew an impressive turnout of healthcare professionals eager to enhance their skills and expertise in this critical field of patient care. The workshop aimed to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of cutting-edge regional anaesthesia techniques, focusing on the safety and precision enabled by ultrasound guidance.

The event featured a distinguished faculty of renowned experts, including Dr. A. V. Gurava Reddy, Chairman of the Sunshine Bone & Joint Institute and MD of KIMS-SUNSHINE Hospitals; Dr. Khubchand Jakhotia, HOD, Dept. of Anaesthesiology; Dr. Kavitha Paruchuri, Senior Consultant Anaesthesiologist; and Dr. Gajanan Fultambkar, Senior Consultant Anaesthesiologist, among others. Their engaging lectures and live demonstrations offered valuable insights into the latest advancements in regional anaesthesia, creating a dynamic and collaborative learning environment.

Participants had the opportunity to gain practical experience through hands-on training sessions using state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment. The interactive format of the workshop encouraged active participation, with attendees engaging in real-time discussions and demonstrations. Key procedures covered included upper and lower limb nerve blocks, abdominal and thoracic blocks and ultrasound-guided identification of neuraxial structures. Advanced techniques such as the Erector Spinae Plane Block, QL Blocks, and Axillary Nerve Block were highlighted, showcasing the precision and safety that ultrasound guidance offers.

The organising team, led by Chief Patron Dr A. V. Gurava Reddy, Course Directors Dr. Khubchand Jakhotia and Dr. Manoj K. Deva, along with Organising Secretary Dr. Seshendra A. and Treasurer Dr. Kavitha Paruchuri, ensured that the event was meticulously planned and executed.
