Skill Up Program for Cardiologists Organised by Dr. Sridhar Kasturi at Marigold Hotel, Hyderabad
Dr. Sridhar Kasturi, Head of the KIMS-SUNSHINE Heart Institute, recently hosted a Skill Up Program for Cardiologists at the Marigold Hotel in Hyderabad. This event brought together over 70 cardiologists from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and provided a hands-on learning experience for participants, on the topics of ROTAblation and IVUS imaging.
Key topics discussed and sessions conducted at the program:
- Tips and Tricks of ROTAblation
- Dr. PLN Kapardi and Dr. Sridhar Kasturi led a detailed session on the tips and tricks of rotablation, discussing the techniques involved in effectively using rotational atherectomy (ROTA) to treat calcified coronary lesions.
- IVUS Imaging: Interpretation While Doing Calcific Coronaries
A significant session focused on IVUS (Intravascular Ultrasound) Imaging and how to interpret images while dealing with calcific coronary lesions. Dr. PLN Kapardi and Dr. Sridhar Kasturi used case examples to illustrate the role of IVUS in guiding successful interventions in challenging coronary cases.
- Demonstration of ROTA Equipment with Hands-On Training
The afternoon session included a live demonstration of the ROTA equipment with hands-on training for participants. Dr. PLN Kapardi and Dr. Sridhar Kasturi walked the attendees through the practical application of rotablation devices, allowing cardiologists to get firsthand experience in using the equipment to treat calcified coronary arteries.
These sessions were vital in equipping cardiologists with advanced skills in managing complex coronary cases, particularly those involving calcified plaques, which are often challenging to treat. The interactive format, with case discussions and practical demonstrations, made the program a huge success.
Dr. Sridhar Kasturi and Dr. PLN Kapardi’s expertise and leadership in organising and facilitating these sessions helped ensure that participants gained not only theoretical knowledge but also the practical skills needed for real-world clinical scenarios.
