South India’s First Reverse Shoulder Replacement Performed at KIMS-SUNSHINE Hospitals

We have successfully performed South India’s first reverse shoulder replacement at KIMS-SUNSHINE Hospitals, Begumpet using a donor bone graft. The patient, a 27-year-old man from South Africa, had suffered a severe shoulder fracture with massive bone loss due to a traumatic accident.

The complex surgery was led by our expert shoulder surgeon, Dr. B. Chandrasekhar, Director of Shoulder Surgery at Sunshine Bone & Joint Institute, along with his expert team. The procedure involved restoring joint stability and shoulder movement using an advanced reverse implant technique, coupled with a donor graft for bone reconstruction.
